Share in the JOY is honored to have been selected as a host program for two iFoster interns because of the impact we have made in supporting children in the foster care system. iFoster is a Tay Americorps program which is funded through a generous grant which supports youth transitioning out of foster care.

The TAY AmeriCorps program is a multi-state initiative aimed at supporting transition-age foster youth (TAY, ages 14 to 26) in achieving self-sufficiency and independence. A collaboration between iFoster and State and National AmeriCorps, the program deploys trained current and former foster youth as AmeriCorps members to partner agencies. These members provide peer support, resource navigation, and workshops, enhancing the capacity of host sites to help TAY with academic persistence, employment, and life skills. The program operates in several states, including Nevada, and aims to significantly improve outcomes for TAY youth.
