Furnishing JOY is a compassionate initiative dedicated to offering basic furniture and household essentials to individuals and families embarking on new beginnings. Recognizing the daunting nature of relocation, particularly for those confronting financial constraints or other adversities, we are steadfast in our commitment to alleviating the burdens associated with such transitions. Our aim is to provide functional living environments for those in need. Whether it’s aiding a family rebuilding after a devastating fire, supporting a foster youth transitioning from care to independent living, assisting a survivor of violence seeking refuge with nothing, or aiding a homeless family securing housing, our program stands ready to provide essential support and comfort to those we serve.
Through partnerships with local organizations like The Venetian, shelters such as Safe House, and foster support programs like iFoster, we collect gently used furniture and household items from generous businesses and private donors. These items are then carefully distributed to individuals and families in need, allowing them to furnish their homes and create a sense of stability and security.
Furnishing JOY is made possible through generous donations from the communities we serve, as well as our esteemed business partners, Mountain Valley Movers. Mountain Valley Movers, led by Alex, Derek, Sarah, and their dedicated team, provides our donors and recipients with pickup and delivery services on a monthly schedule, ensuring donated furniture reaches the families who need it most.
Additionally, Epic Storage in Henderson generously extends a discount, enabling us to store excess donated furniture when necessary until it is ready to be delivered to individuals and families in need.
Together, with the support of these invaluable partners, we are able to fulfill our mission of creating functional living spaces for those embarking on new beginnings.
